I just have to say this.. First off congratulations to my good friend Thomsen for being nominated as the new Forum admin. You really do deserve it and I wish you nothing but the best.
What is up with the forum posts being deleted left and right? I can understand why you would delete the posts by Arctic Fox, but there was a post made last night by a guy named. Punkd.
Now first off I do not like Punkd what-so-ever, but there is nothing wrong with what he posted. If there is no off the wall swearing or physical threats of violence or porn, drugs, etc. Why delete it?
Yes Punkd was arrogant, but he still has the freedom to say what he wants to say? I admire him for saying what he wanted to say. It's part of the game so I don't see the problem!
This post is serious and I am being serious. We need to be careful that we don't start deleting anything we don't like vs what is a violation or spam. I am curious to see how long this post stays up. I seriously want to know as it might determine whether I ever come back to this game or not. Thanks for listening.

All 'chat' type posts can be discussed in the chatrooms, and the I'm back posts can be put on the RIP of the previous character.

I am not getting into a slanging match with you or anyone.. it isn't up for debate...
All chat posts will be deleted. These type of postings need to go into the chatroom. It is less draining on the server and useful threads, like this one aren't buried under mountains of crap.

GENERAL
General means belonging to, or prevailing throughout, a whole class or body collectively, irrespective of individuals.
CHAT
To converse in a familiar or informal manner.
With the forum STATING "GENERAL chat" it would say to me that it is a chat on any subject at all unless offensive in any way.
And in the admins own words
"Anyone can post here, and talk about pretty much anything they want."
so is this a false statement? maybe that should be changed after reset, yes?

Mike it will be.. however filling almost 70 pages of utter spam is adding uneccessary burden to the servers and filling the database. Look back through the topics and 90% of could have been in the chatroom.
At the beginning that is what happened but it simply became abused, as there were not enough people available to moderate it.

also it gives the game a good history i learned a lot by browsing throught the chat and it gave it the life it needed, like it had a past and you could learn all about the wars, fights, and the friendship between players.
it gives it that feeling that its that little bit more that just a game

Unfortunately thats not what happened.. The vast majority of posts in here are spam... All can be done in the chatroom.
Some posts should be here for the rest of the game, others just slagging each other off, asking 'how great I am', and rate this pic are just making the forum unusable.
Posting that you are back after being killed can be put in the previous characters RIP thread, or you could PM the particular people you would like to know you are back. It doesn't need to fill up the forum.
Yesterday I had to delete SIX different threads on the same type of thing yesyterday stating who players were going to be after reset, despite there being a thread only five lines down with 20 replies of people saying who they are going to be.
In an ideal situation what you are saying is right but, its a small minority who think its clever to spam up the forum. Unfortunately we are not in that ideal situation.
One of the reasons we needed this to happen, apart from the obvious drain on resources, is because a lot of good players have complained about this from the start and many have chosen to leave and not come back.
90% of the topics could and will be sent to the chatroom. If they are not worth going to the chatroom for, they were not worth posting here in the first place.
Unfortunately there are some good posts that hve degenerated into spam and arguments bby a few trollers who have no real interst in actually playing the game, and so the whole thread is wiped.
What would be a good feature, and there does seem to be a good few storytellers on here would b e an objective weekly round- up maybe... like a newspaper, so we can all look back and see what happened.
Any volunteers if this is possible. It would mean writing in full English and not text speak !

While I realize there are some countries out there that do not give you the right to speak your mind or say your peace about things. I also realize that England is not one of them. Neither is most of the free world, and especially not the internet. In fact the internet has a much broader spectrum of freedom. Sometimes to much in my opinion.
First of all let it be known that I have no problems with more control on the forums. I am just as sick and tired as others of seeing 90000 random posts by people like Pure-evil about how I am going to die, or the outlawz are going to die etc.etc.etc. I was told by Thomsen that he will delete any spam or inflamatory comments. What classifies inflammatory? Statements like the one made by Punkd about me and the Illuminati was inflamatory, and quickly deleted. Posts by Soomroxx, Trueman, and Bewarned were also inflamatory towards me, the Illuminati, and Cosa Nostra. They are still there in the threads.

oK Well ironically I cannot find posts by the others, so maybe they just want to keep the one that directly attacks me up, or maybe they just missed it.
The point is that there is a difference between monitoring the forums for spamming and inflamatory remarks, and just plain Censorship. Starting to hitlist people for cursing? Nowhere in the rules can I find anything that says cursing is against the rules. If it is against the rules then well there need to be a ton of others who are hitlisted as well.
This is something that I cannot tolerate. I have been pushing the line with my posts purposely to see if they are removed or if they stay up. So far only a couple have been deleted. The question that I have is this. Where do you draw the line between deleting what you consider in bad tastes and something that is in bad tastes. The statements made by the Admins on this is that the "General Forums" are not for "General Chat" Though the games own rules point against that.

So as you can see the rules state something completely opposite of what we are being told now.
By all means delete the spammers, hitlist them, ban them. By all means delete threads by people that are only out to start trouble, but do not be selective in that.
However, I do not see anything that says the following
1. I cannot post my new name when I have come back after death
2. I cannot ask people's opinions on things
3. I cannot ask people what there favorite color is
4. I cannot sell or ask people to rate my art.

1. Do this in the RIP forum - fine fair enough
2. Do this in the chat rooms or private PM's - Not everyone uses chat rooms in fact hardly anyone and not everyone has 100 friends on the game

4. Where am I to do this then? I guess this would be on your profile or in PM's
I will not be censored, and I am sorry for this. I fear that you all do not realize how many players, and paying players at that, that you are going to lose. I for one will not sit here and watch the game that I loved be ruined by censorship. I loved reading the forums in the morning, and now I go back to see the same things posted day in and day out because everything else has been deleted already. Go ahead and delete this I have put it in three or four other locations as well. i want the gamers to read this.
